Yesterday my wife and I took part in an event that we have done yearly for the past 10 years. The event is put on by the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer awareness and is sponsored by BMW. BMW has been a great partner in helping with this event.
The event takes place at a predetermined BMW dealership and BMW has donated 15 different cars to use for the event. All the cars are different BMW models but are all painted the same with the Susan G. Komen drive for the cure logos on the car. The dealership sets up a predetermined road course (about 15 miles) and your job as a participant is to drive the road course. Each lap takes about 20 minutes to complete. Once you are done with your lap you move on to the next car of your choice.
For every mile the cars are driven BMW donates $1.00 to the Komen foundation. Since the program’s inception in 1997, the event has raised over $10 million dollars for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.

This is a great event. I can't run marathons to raise funding and awareness, but I can drive cars. Check if BMW has an event in your area and participate if you can. It's free!
Awesome event! Great photos too. That.s a great way for everyone to participate.
Nice pictures! And anything we can do to achieve The Cure is very important. Not sure who Susan is, I will have to google her I suppose. Here in Canada, our hero for fundraising for fighting cancer is Terry Fox. There is a Terry Fox Run in September with thousands of participants all over Canada.
Thanks for dropping in to my blog, hope you visit again soon!
