Mr Mapper - when you enlarge that shot it's awesome! I've never been up close and personal to a mantis before - they appear to have 'alien' heads. Thanks for that!
We had a run-in with a mantis on our last photo shoot. Salty & Chad got much better pics of it that I did. Ours was a really bright green - yours looks brown. Such a fantastical looking creature, no matter the color!

Neat!
I love the way the Mantis is looking straight at you.
Enlarging this one really shows the detail.
Magic Mantis, really like the shot.
Very universal creatures these mantiis's.
We used to keep them for pets as kids. That is until they escaped

I photographed one of these guys up in PA too!
Great mantis shot...I had one on my car not so long ago......
Pretty cool...I mean the shot!
I've never seen one in the flesh. Their heads appear to be half human, half alien. fascinating creatures and you've captured it really well.
we don't get things like that round here - grasshoppers I guess are the nearest creatures.
haha..when enlarged one can see what you meant by him checking you out...he seems so curious about you :)
Nice shot! The ones we have here in Virginia are green.
Mr. Mantis meets Mr. Mapper. A good M photo combination.
I'm amazed you saw him... great "M" photo.
