"S" is for Shasta. Mt. Shasta that is. Mt. Shasta rises 14,179-feet above sea level(4,322 m) and is the second-highest peak in the Cascade range and the fifth highest peak in California. This picture was snapped during our 11 hour ride home from Washington state.

Terrific S post. You captured the mountain perfectly.
Oops, I meant to say that enlarging the picture really shows the beauty of Mt. Shasta.
Gorgeous scenery. It's a fantastic view of the mountain you've managed to capture there.
it reminds me El Teide on Tenerife, that same snow-capped volcanic peak
Beautiful.
Wow -- It looks WONDERFUL when you click on to enlarge. Beautiful mountain!!
Is it a volcano, or does it just look that way? Great!
Majestic "S" post. Lovely.
Nice Shasta shot. I love that area but have yet to really explore it on foot.

Mt. Shasta is an impressive hill ;)
The Cascade Range is optimizes rugged beauty to me.
Great photo of Shasta, When did you take this? We went thru there in early Oct.Just a tad of snow then
That is a lovely photo. I've never driven up that way. It looks cold.
Sigh...so gorgeous!
We in British Columbia, get to look at Mt baker in the North Cascades in Washington State. Mt Baker is the northern most Volcano and I think Shasta is the southern most volcano.
Mt baker is 10000 plus feet high
