I was down at the pond by my house the other day trying unsuccessfuly to take a picture of a snowy egret. I looked up for a monment and look what I found above my head sitting in a tree. A very large hawk just sitting there posing for me. He sat about 12 inches tall.

Good shot, I suppose the egret is too big for the hawk to go after.
Have you noticed when the hawk is around, all the small birds go into hiding.
We've been seeing hawks hanging around street light poles.
When we used to have pet birds, one hawk actually flew into our yard and started stalking them.
