A very long visitor

Friday, August 31, 2007

This visitor decided to show up at our front door not to long ago. My wifes aunt who was visiting was about to grab it since she thought it was just a fake rubber snake. When it started to move she quickly changed her plans. This very real snake was almost 5 feet long and 2 inches wide!

Great close up..... but... uh.... isn't that a little too close??

Looks like a Copperhead. If so, then definitely will bite and is poisonous. Probably won't kill an adult, but you would feel like you were going to die.

Um, have chipper weekend!

Found you through photowannabe.

I take that back. I'm not thinking copperhead anymore. Hmmm... I'm clueless, but it sure is a beautiful animal.

I am so much afraid of snakes. I even cannot imagine seeing any especially not near my house, otherwise I am afraid I couldn’t fall asleep thinking about its coming up.

Great close-up and good story!

Sorry, but I cannot identify you unwelcome friend either. I does not resemble any of our eastern snakes that I am familiar with

What a shot! Looks similar to the rattlesnake I saw at Oak Creek Canyon several weeks ago on a short vacation in Sedona. Visiting from photowannabe's blog.
